Health and Wellness Expo, Save the Date!

BOYERTOWN-Rep. David Maloney (R-Berks) is hosting a Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Middle School, 1845 Weavertown Road, in Douglassville.

“Regular exercise and eating nutritious foods not only helps prevent minor ailments but also allows one to do a better job at work, have more fun with the family, and just feel better overall,” Maloney said. “A simple regimen of exercise and nutrition can be made a part of your daily routine.”

As a life-long athlete and outdoor enthusiast, Maloney believes there are many in the 130th District, and throughout Berks County, who would enjoy and benefit from learning about healthy living, exercise, and recreation. Admission is free, and there will be door prizes, plenty of health and fitness vendors, and a special appearance by Slapshot, the Reading Royal’s mascot.

Among those scheduled to attend are Berks Encore, Office of the Aging, the Berks County K9 Unit, Boyertown Wellness Council, Snap Fitness Center, McClimon Chiropractor, Valhalla Health & Fitness, the American Cancer Society, and Day Star Natural. In addition, Miss Maggie Sings will be on hand to educate children about fruit, veggies and healthy eating. This is another one of Maloney’s continuing outreach efforts to benefit our local communities.
