Rep. Maloney dedicated a portion of State Route 562 in Boyertown as the Gen. Carl A. Spaatz Memorial Highway. The road naming was made possible by legislation Maloney authored and ushered into law. Carl “Tooey” Spaatz, a Boyertown native, was the first Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force and commanded the Allied air campaign against the Nazis. After retiring from the Air Force, Gen. Spaatz served as the first chairman of the Civil Air Patrol National Board. More photos are here.
Pa. State Rep. Dave Maloney welcomes two grand daughters of General Carl Spaatz, both of whom tell their story of the WW II hero.
