Rep. Maloney Comments on Committee Passage of Package of Child Protection Bills - 6/13/2013
A package of legislation designed to modernize Pennsylvania’s child abuse laws was approved by the House Children and Youth Committee recently in Harrisburg. The six bill package was crafted to reflect the recommendations of the Task Force on Child Protection, and addresses the definition of abuse, mandated reporters, reporting procedures, and the appeals process. Rep. Dave Maloney (R-Berks), prime sponsor of House Bill 434, said that in order to protect all children, reporting standards must be consistent across the educational spectrum. Rep. Maloney Comments on House Passage of Budget Bill - 6/12/2013
The Pennsylvania House on Wednesday passed a $28.3 billion spending plan for the 2013-2014 fiscal year. The budget increases state spending by more than $500 million without increasing the burden on Pennsylvania taxpayers. Rep. Rep. Maloney Comments on PA Farm Show - 1/10/2013
The 97th annual Pennsylvania Farm Show is underway in Harrisburg. The event is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the United States, and features more than 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits, and 300 commercial exhibitors. Rep. Dave Maloney (R-Berks) said the farm show is a great opportunity for the next generation of farmers to demonstrate their talents. The Farm Show runs through Saturday, January 12. Legislation to amend the Pennsylvania Constitution to allow the exclusion of up to 100 percent of the value of a principal place of residence from property taxes was unanimously approved by the state House this week. Dave Maloney (R-Berks) said this begins the process to remove the constitutional hurdles that have prevented the passage of legislation to fully protect Pennsylvania homeowners from the burden of skyrocketing property taxes.
