The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Recreation and Conservation (DCNR) Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants were awarded to Washinton Township and Fleetwood Borough.

These grants assist local governments and recreation and conservation organizations with funding for projects related to parks, recreation and conservation

“I am pleased to announce funding for revamping the Barto Community Park and the Fleetwood Community Pool,” Maloney said. “These applications for the department’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants are accepted once a year and these two projects will certainly enhance recreational opportunities in these municipalities.”

The grants are as follows:

• Washington Township, $26,000, to prepare a master site development plan for the 19-acre Barto Community Park. Work will include an electronic written report and site development drawings.

• Fleetwood Borough, $249,800, for the rehabilitation of Fleetwood Community Pool. Work will include renovation of the comfort station; installation of fencing; ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.
