HARRISBURG – Rep. David Maloney (R-Berks) today said he fully supports House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster), who on Friday introduced
House Resolution 501, which if passed would create a House Select Committee to investigate the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump that took place in Pennsylvania on July 13.
“As the author of Pennsylvania’s First Responder Day law, I have great confidence in our law enforcement, EMS and volunteer first responders,” Maloney said. “Our first responders who answered the call and reportedly first alerted federal authorities to the shooter that day are to be commended. Sadly, a volunteer firefighter lost his life shielding his family from the bullets. I am volunteering to serve on this select committee should House Resolution 501 pass.”
Maloney’s measure, which was signed into law on Nov. 17, 2021, designates Sept. 27 of each year in Pennsylvania as First Responders Day.
