Maloney’s Annual Sportsmens’ Expo Saturday, August 29

BOYERTOWN – State Rep. David Maloney (R-Berks) today announced that he will hold his annual Sportsmen’s Expo Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Oley Valley Community Fairgrounds, 26 Jefferson St., Oley.

Maloney stressed how important sportsmen are to Pennsylvania’s economy.

“Sportsmen contribute more than $1.5 billion each year to Pennsylvania’s economy and support about 15,000 jobs here,” Maloney said. “Many people do not fully comprehend how important hunting and fishing are to our economy – the 15.5 million hunters age 6 and up in America could fill every NASCAR track, NFL stadium, NBA arena, MLB ballpark and NHL rink in the country more than twice.”

Boating equipment will be on display, as well as numerous sportsmen-related demonstrations. Representatives from Pennsylvania Game Commission and the Fish and Boat Commission will be on hand, and there will also be video presentations and door prizes. A favorite of the kids, the BB gun target shooting will return again this year.

A black powder musket demonstration will be conducted by the Pennsylvania First Regiment of the Continental Line from the Daniel Boone Homestead.

Admission is free. For more information, please contact Maloney’s district offices in Boyertown at (610) 369-3010 or Douglassville at (610) 385-0704.
